The operation process of Cummins diesel generator set includes the following steps:
Preparation before starting
1. Check the oil level: Make sure the oil level is between the maximum and minimum scales.
2. Check the coolant level: Make sure there is enough coolant.
3. Check the fuel level: Make sure there is enough fuel.
4. Check the battery voltage: Make sure the battery voltage is normal.
5. Check various protective devices: Make sure the protective devices are intact.
6. Check the alarm system: Make sure the alarm system works properly.
Start the generator
1. Turn the fuel fine-tuning operating handle or press the "oil engine speed increase" button to fix the diesel engine door at the equivalent idle position of the unit (about 500-700rpm).
2. Turn on the power switch, the power indicator light is on, then press the pre-supply oil button to start the pre-supply pump, and run it for no more than 30 seconds each time until the oil pressure reaches 0.2-0.3MPa, then press the start button to start the diesel engine. If the start fails, wait for 2 minutes and try again. If it fails to start for three consecutive times, check and find out the cause of the fault.
3 After the diesel engine is started, the speed should be controlled at around 600-700rpm, and pay close attention to the oil pressure reading. If there is no indication of oil pressure, stop the engine immediately for inspection.
4. After the low-speed operation is normal, gradually increase the speed to 1000-1200rpm for preheating operation. When the water temperature reaches 50℃ and the oil temperature reaches about 45℃, increase the speed to 1545rpm or 1575rpm (for units above 250KW), the charging indicator light is on, and adjust the generator voltage to the rated value.
Load operation and shutdown operation
1. Close the automatic air switch, and then gradually increase the load. Note that the air switch is equipped with a pressure loss protection device, and it is only possible to close the switch when the generator voltage reaches 70% or more of the rated voltage.
2. Manual shutdown: Press the button to rotate the "power switch" on the generator panel to the "stop" position, and press the [Stop] soft key on the wireless remote control. It is necessary to open the switch before shutting down, and it is strictly forbidden to shut down with load.
3. Automatic mode operation: When the unit is in a fault-free and standby state, press the key to enter the "automatic mode". After the power grid is abnormal, the unit automatically starts. After the electrical parameters of the unit are normal, the ATS automatically switches to power the unit; after the power grid returns to normal, the ATS automatically switches to power the load with the power grid, and the unit stops after the set time of no-load operation.
