The structure and composition of
Cummins generator set mainly include diesel engines, generator sets, controllers, radiators, and other components.
The diesel engine is the core component of Cummins generator set, providing the energy required by the generator set. Cummins diesel engines adopt a large cam design and PT fuel system, with four intake forms: naturally aspirated, turbocharged, turbocharged intercooled, and double turbocharged. These design features make diesel engines lightweight, high-power, high torque, low fuel consumption, and easy maintenance.
A generator set, also known as an electric ball, is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. It consists of a rotor and a stator, where the rotor generates a magnetic field using residual magnetism or direct current. When the rotor rotates, relative cutting magnetic field lines are formed for the stator, and an induced potential is generated on the stator. If the stator is connected to an external circuit to form a closed circuit, current is output to the load.
The controller plays a role in both control and protection of the unit. It has all functions such as remote and local start/stop, generator set protection, etc.
The radiator (including the fan and water tank) is responsible for cooling the engine and generator to ensure their normal operating temperature. The cooling system of Cummins diesel generator set adopts gear centrifugal water pump for forced water cooling, with a large flow water channel design, which has good cooling effect and can effectively reduce heat radiation and noise.
In addition, the body structure of Cummins generator sets also includes intake system, exhaust system, lubrication system, etc. The design and configuration of these systems are all aimed at ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the generator sets. The intake system is connected to the air filter assembly and mainly consists of the turbocharger intake, turbocharger to intercooler, intercooler, intake manifold, and intake valve. The exhaust system uses pulse dry exhaust pipes, which can effectively utilize the energy of exhaust gas and fully utilize the performance of the engine. The lubrication system adopts a variable flow oil pump with a main oil passage signal pipe, which can adjust the pump oil volume according to the main oil passage oil pressure, optimize the amount of oil entering the engine, effectively reduce pump oil power loss, improve power performance, and improve engine economy.
